Report on the assessment of the subsoil petroleum potential.

November 2, 2017, FSBI “VNIGNI” held VIII all-Russian conference “Effectiveness of geophysical methods for oil and gas regional and exploration works”, where O.A. Smirnov and A.V. Lukashov gave a report on “Petroleum potential assessment and geological features identification of the subsoil sites’ structure via 2D and 3D seismic survey”.

As the result of the performed work in reprocessing marine material via 2D and 3D seismic survey, new geological and geophysical information was obtained, which significantly clarifies ideas about the mechanism and extent of vertical and lateral hydrocarbon migration. The interpretation of the temporary sections and decoding seismic anomalies allows us to supplement the practical work of specialists with new methodological techniques of interpretation when assessing the subsoil potential, to reconstruct the development history of the sedimentary basin at a higher level, to determine seismic signs indicating conditions of hydrocarbon deposits formation.
