Congratulations to Vladimir Nikolayevich Borodkin on his birthday!

Vladimir Nikolayevich Borodkin is an honored geologist of the Russian Federation, D.Sc. of Geological and Mineralogical Sciences, Academician of the Russian Academy of Natural Sciences, regular author of the scientific journal «Geology, Geophysics and Exploration of Oil and Gas Fields».

On June 6, 2021 Vladimir Nikolayevich Borodkin celebrated his 75th birthday and 50 years of working experience in the oil and gas industry.

Borodkin V.N.  was born in 1946 in Burepolom village of Shakhunskiy District, Gorki Area. After his graduation from Perm Polytechnic Institute in 1970, Vladimir Nikolayevich used to work for Urengoy Oil Exploration Expedition (1970-1976), for the West Siberian Research Geological Exploration Oil Institute (1976-1996), for Siberian Scientific and Analytical Center (1997-2010). Since 2007 he has been a professor of lecturing desk of Oil and Gas Fields Geology at Tyumen Industrial University and a chief scientist at West-Siberian branch office of Institute of Oil and Gas Geology and Geophysics Russian Academy of Sciences named after Trofimuk A. A. Since 2010 he has been a part-time chief specialist in regional geology for Reservoir Geology LLC, and since 2014 for INGEOSERVICE LLC.

Borodkin V.N.  made a valuable contribution to justifying the discovery of oil and gas fields of Tyumen region: Severo-Urengoyskoye, Ye-Yakhinskoye, Samburgskoye, Severo-Purovskoye, Piricheyskoye,  Vostochno-Urengoyskoye, Yesetinskoye, Pyreynoye and unique hydrocarbon deposits in Achimov oil and gas bearing complex of East-Urengoy zone, whose reserves significantly added to the regional resource base balance. Borodkin V.N. is the first discoverer of the Ust-Yamsoveyskoye multi-layer oil-gas-condensate field (Pursa area, co-authored with Kulakhmetov N.Kh.  for drilling of exploratory well No.1, 1976).

He was awarded more than ten medals and badges during his career in the industry. He is a laureate of Baibakov N.K., Muravlenko V.I., and Kosukhin A.N. awards, as well as Rosgeo and Rosnedra prizes in Science and Technology. Vladimir Nikolayevich is active in scientific work and is the author of more than 300 scientific publications, including 18 monographs and textbooks. Materials have been tested at meetings, symposiums and conferences at various levels in Russia, the USA, China, Egypt and Spain.
